New musical talents

Randomly... I use to go to school in Dublin (well not that random as I am partly Irish). I cringe at the days when I had a thick Irish accent and wore Canterbury of New Zealand trousers with a Penny's (Irish Primark) artex and borrowed 'Dubes'. "It was likeee just so cool to be a D-4 and hang out at Dundrum". Wow I was an actual dick-head. Anyways after that long life trivia story...

So the other day whilst I was reminiscing about 'ye old Wesley times', I stumbled across a old boarder named Tara Masterson Hally  and it turns out, she's gone all folky, alternative and followed through with her music. Props to Tara though, cause it's actually amazing stuff. Cliched as it sounds, I got shivers when I heard her latest track 'Lingering'. It's bea-uti-ful.  She's like a young Kate Bush meets Cat Power meets Beach House. I cannot stop playing this song atm.

If you love her sound as much as me, check out her tumblr page or sound cloud page!

Carnival '11

gifs make

So yar Canrival was pretty cool this year. Minus all the trecking around. Allow thats stuffs! Music as usual was great. There was full supply of the ganja. Amount of chicken was insane. However £7 for a bit of jerk chicken and rice, is EXTORTIONATE. We jammed mostly around portobello way, meeting the crazy party people. Highlight has got to be when i was pissed outta my head, and in desperate need of the toilet. So me and a friend, hustled with this Jamaican man to use behind his GIANT van. Scary. But trust, at carnival all your dignity goes out the window. Majority of people are too fucked, to bother anyways.

Awkward pose!

What is my mouth doing?

My lover Hasumi

And bonus, got these cool RED STRIPE T'shirts, to celebrate the day. All for £2.50.

It's raining & Home Alone 2 is on..

So today is just NOSTALGIA filled! Which me loves. Flicking through the channels, on this wet, wet
day and what do I see? Only Uncle Frank singing in zee shower... ahaa

I love this movie. Makes me want Christmas soon. Getting a tiny bit over excited, whilst listening to Lana Del Rey's 'Video Games'.  Really like her sound and general look. A modern day Kate Bush, which is always good- cause this actually means REAL music. Described as 'Hollywood sad core' and Lana herself as a 'ganster Nancy Sinatra', its eclectic and new. Slightly dramatic, but in a good way. I salute you Lana Del Rey and you is rather BEA-UTI-FUL!!

Old woman on the computer

I cannot believe it. I am officially turning into my granny. So yeah I is new to the whole 'blogging world' and so first couple of posts will not be amazing. But no one told me you need an ICT degree to make all your posts look slightly better. And I mean slightly! Anywhos so were sat in front of the comp, my glasses are on at this point and I'm learning about a whole world I never knew existed. HTML. I feel like an old woman, Gert's scrolling away, doing all shortcuts like CTRL + ALT + P  or something. My whole computer life I have been superior to my mother, able to send emails! and easily navigate the internet. When in actual fact I'm probably worse than my granny. BOOHOO. It's sad mayne.

The Help ( 2011)

make gifs

After rinsing my Sainsbury's basics tissues, I can safely say that Tate Taylor's 'The Help' is a brilliant movie. And so I urge ye to watch it. Not only is it refreshing to see Emma Stone break her Hollywood type-cast of 'cutest girl next-door', ditching the hair straighteners and opting for a more frumpish yet witty 'Miss Skeeter' but its the honesty of the plot that carries the film. It's frightening to think that only forty odd years ago, black people weren't even allowed to use a 'white' toilet... for fear of CONTAMINATION. wow. Either way, this film shows an alternative interpretation of the civl rights movement and the reality of 'The Help'. Beautifully shot and an exciting film for 2011. THUMBS UP!
